<image:caption>Welcome to our website where you will find information about who we are and what we do, pictures of our current rabbit residents, and reminisces of those now sadly missed. We also have a shop (‘Easter’s Shop’) where we sell some of our specially created merchandise including , amazing teatowels with Forage Plants and Garden Plants for Rabbits printed on them, Books on foraging and gardening for rabbits, and also tickets for our events both on-line and at the Warren. We also have sales of craft items. Most importantly there is also a Donations’ button (see bottom this page). We try to keep the website updated but please be patient with us as we juggle digital presence with the reality of poo tray cleaning and medicine giving! If you would like to follow the day to day happenings at Parsleys Warren check out our Facebook page (Facebook: parsleyswarren.uk) which is updated almost daily. Wow have given ups with Instagram - sorry just not enough time!</image:caption>

      <image:title>The Warren - A Little Bit About Us</image:title>
<image:caption>Who Are We? Parsleys Warren is a small sanctuary especially created for elderly and special needs rabbits of all kinds who otherwise struggle to find homes via standard rehoming rescues . We provide life-long love, support and access to veterinary care and give these often neglected rabbits the family they dream of. We are a Charitable Trust and Registered Charity no. 1194265. We rely on donations from our supporters to provide food, accommodation and the inevitable vets fees associated with being a sanctuary. All our rabbits are neutered and fully vaccinated. Rabbits are not re-homed from here but have a home for life . We have a capacity for 16 rabbits here and are currently (Jan 2026) (over) full. If you need to re-home an elderly or ill rabbit please contact us for advice and assistance with alternatives.</image:caption>

<image:caption>CHINA CAT SUNFLOWER has been with us since before 'Parsleys Warren' was created, when we were still just taking in rabbits in need. She is a magnificent woolly mammoth of a rabbit with a fine disdain for other more normal looking fellows. Following a stroke she is now blind and deaf and after a fairy tale romance with Easter (a wildie) was left sadly widowed and has never taken to another rabbit no matter how many we try. She currently makes her own personal home in living room and repels all incomers.</image:caption>

<image:caption>APRIL arrived with us after a call from social services and at first struggled to settle with other rabbits and gain weight. Thanks to our wonderful supporters, she has had a range of tests and diagnostics which we are pleased to say found no underlying cause. However she does have a tendency to be hyp[er active and now has an incredible affair going on with a true wildie who moved into the garden in summer 2025 WILBERFORCE. She still has to come in at night though like an 'wild child'!!</image:caption>

<image:caption>ASTERACEAE was brought into an animal rescue in Kent, she had head wounds which suggest she had been attacked by a cat. These have now healed but as a single adolescent wild rabbit would have no chance released on her own, she has now grown to be a fine rabbit - and been bonded with tiny Cobweb to make a THIRD! 'wildie' group at Parsleys Warren.</image:caption>

He had been diagnosed with severe heart and other issues and the RSPCA were given the option of put to sleep or find a long-term sanctuary. After a short while getting into a tizzy trying to be head of the indoor clan, he has now taken it into his stride. He has the most adorable curly ears and a slightly bemused expression much of the time!</image:caption>

Due to beng blind in one eye he is even more nervous than most wildies and also rather small so we were concerned about h his joining the main wildie group. <image:caption>CHARLES GUILLAUME or to give him his full name, Charles Guillaume Maximillian the second, arrived at Emmas Rabbit Rescue in Northampton as a very very malnourished young rabbit, with very little hair and no muscle, due to the very poor way he had been kept and almost starved. This sort of early neglect can lead to long term issue with bone structure etc and so we took him in and named him after the father of one of our Trustees! For many years he lived with Delphinium who sadly passed away in May 2025, henow lives indoors with Burlington Bertie and Atlas.</image:caption>

<image:caption>CREAM PUFF came to us as "Benji' from Bunny Angels. He was variously claimed as 4 years or 9 years old - but his demeanour and wise old eyes declared that 9 was the most likely. He was almost immediately diagnosed with kidney and liver failure - but has been with us for a year now and bonded with PUFFBALL. He is the most adorable rabbit ever - and has a very special relationship with the vet nurses who see to his 'rehydration days' once a month</image:caption>

<image:caption>LADY BUTE (brown up ears) named after the wife of 18th century plant collector Lord Bute, is a bit of a mystery. She came into the Baby Blue Bee Bunnies rescue in the normal way so to speak . . and then became ill with multiple internal adhesions. Major surgery saved her against all the odds, and she came to us as she could not be re-homed in the normal way in case the adhesions came back. She has been here almost five years now and despite a dip in health after the loss of Himalayan Balsam - and a mystery stiff leg , she is looking better this new year (2026)</image:caption>

<image:caption>LUX and WINONA are well – Lux and Winona the 'twins' – and have been ever since they arrived with their half-wildie siblings at Rabbit Residence Rescue back in 2021! Of course there were more of them then so to speak but you know how families are – siblings argue and fall out - and it became eventually Lux and Winona. In summer 2025 with a spare wildie chalet available we asked RRR whether they would like to transfer them here so they could have more run space more often in our large special wildie area, and free up a chalet for more rescue rabbits at RRR (which is after all our purpose – to help rehoming rescues!). They keep themselves to themselves and are identifiable by one being just a tad bigger and one being a tad bolder . . but as they do everything together we call them ‘Lux and Winona’ inseparably</image:caption>

He spent the time here bouncing and whizzing around . . and decided that actually he was probably much too lively and has popped off to bond with Edie at Nicola's instead!!</image:caption>

<image:caption>SAFFRON came here with her sister Fleur from Northamptonshire Animals in Need, again because agouti rabbits were hard to rehome. This was before we were officially 'Parsleys Warren' and neither Saffron nor Fleur had health issues or were elderly, but they had been sat in rescue for too long so we took them in. In fact we now suspect they were older than the rescue had been told by their original owners, as we lost Fleur last year and Saffron passed away a year later having taken on the typical 'over 10 years' look of a wise old rabbit . . , having spent her last year indoors.</image:caption>

<image:caption>FLORENTINO (and NOT Florentina as we first thought!) was another case of severe malnutrition, although as a result of a very sad family situation. He was meant to come to us on his way to a rehoming rescue but when we opened the box he came in we realised he was in a very bad way. Happily he rapidly made up for a poor start and was bonded with Pamplemouse (the 'Odd Couple'!). However early issues can often lead to a difficulties in middle age and he passed away in 2025. Sadly missed.</image:caption>

He is that very rare thing at Parsleys Warren, a young and healthy rabbit! In fact we brought him in as support from Burlington Bertie (and the humans!) and generally to give a sense of 'normality and support' to all the indoor rabbits, who include some of our oldest and chronically disabled We were devastated to loose him to EC.</image:caption>
