Parsleys Warren Rabbit Sanctuary

Registered Charity No 1194265

Welcome to our website where you will find information about who we are and what we do, pictures of our current rabbit residents, and reminisces of those now sadly missed. We also have a shop (‘Easter’s Bazaar’) where we sell some of our specially printed merchandise, and also tickets for our events both on-line and at the Warren. Most importantly there is also a Donations’ button (see below). We try to keep the website updated but please be patient with us as we juggle digital presence with the reality of poo tray cleaning and medicine giving! If you would like to follow the day to day happenings at Parsleys Warren check out our Facebook page (Facebook: parsleyswarren.uk) which is updated almost daily and also instagram (Parsleys Warren). You will also find us at The National Rabbit Festival 2023 in Birmingham on 7th October.

A Little Bit About Us

Who Are We?

Parsleys Warren is a small sanctuary especially created for elderly and special needs rabbits of all kinds who otherwise struggle to find homes via standard rehoming rescues . We provide life-long love, support and access to veterinary care and give these often neglected rabbits the family they dream of. We are a Charitable Trust and Registered Charity no. 1194265. We rely on donations from our  supporters to provide food, accommodation and the inevitable vets fees associated with being a sanctuary. All our rabbits are neutered and fully vaccinated.  Rabbits are not re-homed from here but have a home for life . We have a capacity for 20 rabbits here and are currently full.

A Little More About Us .

What Do We Do?

We liaise with other rescues and national organisations to identify and take in rabbits whose age or special needs mean that they are often left behind in rescue when others are adopted. We work within rabbit rescue networks UK wide and also occasionally take in direct. We also take in orphaned wild rabbits who cannot be released for whatever reason, for whom we have specialised accommodation. We are also a member of One Voice for Animals UK and have undertaken their comprehensive review of policies and practices.

Where Are We?

We are based in a small hamlet on the Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire borders where we can give our residents space and access to fresh forage. We are also within an hour of our specialist vets!

Why ‘Parsleys’ and what about the apostrophe?

Parsleys Warren is named after two Parsleys: Parsley Parcels ( Lord Parsley of Parcels) and Parsley Piert Parcels (known as PPP for short), father and son. They brought enormous joy to our lives as well as knowledge of the work of rabbit rescue and rabbit ailments! When we founded Parsleys Warren we trialled an apostrophe after the ‘s’ to mark the plurality of Parsleys, but people kept telling us we had the apostrophe in the wrong place as they assumed it should be Parsley’s - so we just junked it and now everyone tells us we need an apostrophe!

How You Can Help?

We are a small sanctuary and some of our rabbits find humans difficult so we do not have volunteers on-site. However we do love sharing our day to day life with our supporters and followers so why not explore our site and follow us on facebook where you can and enjoy getting to know some of the resident rabbits? Join our supporters and followers and take advantage of the quick and easy 'donations’ button (below). Maybe browse our shop for some notecards, calendars and cards or come to one of our on-line or on-site events or training days? You can also browse our WISH-LISTS on Just4Rabbits and Amazon.  Follow us on Facebook or Instagram
